We have new outdoor play area thanks to funding

New play equipment

We have been successful in its bid for numerous grants totalling over £12,000 from The Percy Bilton Charity, Cash for Kids and The Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund.

The charity urgently needed new equipment that was safe and suitable for a range of ages and abilities, and the new playground has now been built and includes swings, slides, a climbing frame and play unit.

Pat Roberts, Nursery and After-school Manager at Centre 56, said: “Play is a hugely important part of the services we provide as it has a positive impact on children’s physical and mental health and wellbeing.

“Some of the families we support are living through domestic abuse; for them home can mean violence, abuse and insecurity. We provide a safe place to play outside in a neighbourhood where outdoor spaces are considered less safe.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to The Percy Bilton Charity, Cash for Kids and The Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund who have funded the new equipment. Without support and grants like these we wouldn’t be able to provide our services”.
