We can’t say thank you enough

We can’t say thank you enough.

Fear, dread and worry are some of the roller coaster emotions we have all felt during this difficult time. The Coronavirus pandemic is something we have never experienced before; it has changed our daily life as we know it. Here at Centre 56 our top priority has always been the safeguarding and welfare of children, parents, and guardians. You may ask, how could we continue to provide such vital support following the government advice to close our nursery and practice social distancing? We may have made the difficult decision to close our doors, but our staff ensured that each family still received the essential support we provide here at Centre 56.

Government advice stated we could provide care at some of our centres for families who fell into the specific categories set out by Government. This was a worrying time for those who did not meet the criteria, as for many of our families, we are a lifeline. Funding, donations, and our dedicated team enabled us to continue providing support to families who did meet the criteria. At this time, our support mattered even more now than it did before.

Recent funding received from the Steve Morgan Foundation has enabled us to deliver packages to our families, personalised to their needs. The packages included items such as food, toys and activity packs and phones or tablets, allowing families to stay in touch during this difficult time. We have also kept in regular contact with each family to ensure they are doing okay, and to ask if they need any support and have a friendly chat.

Within the first week of providing this support, we received feedback from our families expressing their thanks and gratitude. We could not be more thankful to our families for being so understanding and patient with us during these unprecedented times. The comments mean so much to us!

We are also grateful for every donation and funding we receive; you help us to remain a lifeline to each child, parent and guardian who need our help.
