Music therapy has helped to boost our children's confidence!

Thanks to funding from Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership, the children we support have been having lots of fun engaging in music therapy sessions over the past month.

Music therapist Rachel from Nordoff Robbins runs group and individual sessions with all the children we work with, including with the little ones in our nursery and through video calls for the older children while they had been homeschooling.

Nordoff Robbins' sessions not only give the children opportunity to play but to socialise and work in a new way with their peers. It will help to develop their concentration as they copy rhythms and melodies from each other.

The sessions are also designed to improve the children’s wellbeing through the fun and relaxing activities.

Already we’ve seen some improvements in the children’s communication skills and confidence, all while we’re having a lovely time together.

We want to say a big thank you to Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership for awarding us £2,977 from their Arts and Culture fund which has gone towards instruments and piloting these sessions, and to Rachel for delivering them.

We’re so excited to say that we’ll be continuing running these sessions with Nordoff Robbins until the end of the year!
