Aims
- To provide a physical space where women and children who have experienced Domestic Abuse can feel safe and free from violence as either resident or visitor
- To work towards providing whatever level of practical support a woman and her children need, through any course of action that women choose to take
- To support women in gaining awareness of all choices that are open to them and to provide an environment in which to encourage and enable women to make their own choices in life. We will also respect and support choices made by any women in any way we can
- To provide a space where children who lived with Domestic Abuse are free to play, to express themselves as children and are helped to overcome their traumatic experiences
- Through support and respite to help women to build relationships with their children, and with each other
- To monitor and review our quality of service in order that we are continually improving and developing the service we provide to both women and children
- To forge links with other organisations who can have a beneficial impact on the lives of women and children who have lived with Domestic Abuse
- To constantly monitor and improve our Policies and Procedures in order that all women and children who need advice and support about Domestic Abuse, are able to access our service equally
The Centre was established in 1973 and strives towards improving its service to women and their children, who would otherwise be forced to remain in a violent and abusive environment.
